Understand the new paradigm

Aging was once something that happened to you. We now understand it as a process with identifiable mechanisms and a rate we can modulate.

Our contributors include leading scientists from the field and course material is drawn from hundreds of hours of direct interviews.

Go beyond the science

The extra years created by the longevity revolution create an entirely new set of challenges. This course examines purpose and meaning with the same rigor as the science.

What people are saying

This course is changing the game, but don't take it from us.

”
The best longevity course I'd recommend to anyone! Comment: I'm a PhD biologist, and this is the best online longevity course I've come across. The educators here covered a remarkable range of topics - metabolism, sleep, existing drugs, the use of AI, supercentenarians and more - and, more importantly, they connect all the dots so the science comes together as one coherent picture rather than a list of facts. Accurate, clear and a real pleasure to watch. This should be a course to every biology or medical student. Highly recommended.

”
The Long Game is a scholarly, thoughtful look at the emerging field of longevity science---and art---as it stands today. This gripping course covers everything from biochemical neuroscience, to biology, to statistical anomalies, to technology, as well as the art and science of living well throughout a long healthy lifespan. The Long Game has something to capture every interest. It's really fun, informative, and left me feeling hopeful, as a two-time survivor of cancer.

Most longevity content stops at mechanisms. This one spends real time on why you'd want the extra years in the first place purpose and meaning alongside biology, which is the part almost nobody else covers.

The Long Game course offers an integrative and easy-to-understand curriculum that connects the dots across the longevity landscape. As a Cambridge student and biotech enthusiast, I found that the course offers insightful perspectives that distill complex science into an accessible knowledge base.

The world was built for a shorter life

Retirement at sixty-five. Thirty-year careers. Pensions, savings models, the shape of a marriage, the age at which people are quietly written off. All of it was designed around a life expectancy that no longer applies. Those who understand the fundamentals driving this will thrive. It will be decades before the institutions catch up. You can start today. You're following the breakthroughs. You're taking your health seriously. But are you seeing the big picture? The Long Game provides the perspective to make sense of our new reality.

Your Enrollment Includes:

•Twenty-one modules of video, written material, and exercises you can take at your own pace and revisit whenever you want. •A written guide for every module, covering the reasoning, the underlying studies, and recommended reading. •Short assessments after each module so you can test your understanding. •Quarterly live sessions with Dr. Lewis, with direct access to ask about anything in the course or anything happening in the field. •Full access for 180 days.

Meet your guide: Thomas Lewis, MD

Dr. Thomas Lewis is a psychiatrist, neuroscientist, author, and producer/co-star of the award-winning documentary Forever Young. He earned his MD at UCSF, where he completed his psychiatry residency, served as Associate Director of the Affective Disorders Program, and remains an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry. He has delivered Grand Rounds at UCSF and Stanford, and lectured everywhere from the American Association for the Advancement of Science to Google. He also teaches at the Fromm Institute for Lifelong Learning at the University of San Francisco, where his students are adults over fifty. Over the years, he has built courses on the intersection of neuroscience with morality, creativity, complexity science, poetry, love, and Shakespeare. Twice recognized for his teaching at UCSF, he is that rare thing: a working scientist who is also, demonstrably, a teacher. His book A General Theory of Love was reviewed by the New York Times and the Washington Post, which called it "a rare example of the fusing of scientific rigor with literary eloquence." It has been translated into six languages. Founders and physicians have sought him out for years, often calling him the Sage of Sausalito, and his teachings have rarely been available outside lecture halls and private sessions. Dr. Lewis has a unique ability to bridge science and humanism, which makes him the perfect guide to lead you through the science of longevity while remembering why you want to live longer in the first place.

FREE LESSON: The New Paradigm

What You'll Gain From This Free Lesson • Why aging stopped being treated as a fate and became a target • What geroscience actually claims, and why treating one disease at a time hits a wall • How biological age is measured, and why it often disagrees with your birth certificate • The framework concierge medicine is built on, in plain language

"It's the best possible time to be alive."

Many professionals take The Long Game as continuing education. Upon completion, you receive a certificate documenting your work, which you can submit for professional development records or reimbursement. If your employer requires anything specific, contact us, and we will provide it. Health and longevity programs can cost thousands of dollars and still miss the big picture. What makes The Long Game different is perspective: it is the only course of its kind built to connect the dots between science, history, philosophy, and medicine. The result? A better understanding of not only longevity, but the entire world.  For decades, Dr. Lewis has changed how his patients understand their own lives. For the first time, he is opening those doors to a limited number of students. In the film Forever Young, Dr. Lewis says, "It's the best possible time to be alive." By the end of this course, you'll understand why.
