Understand the new paradigm

Aging was once something that happened to you. We now understand it as a process with identifiable mechanisms and a rate we can modulate.

Learn from the researchers themselves

Our contributors include leading scientists from the field and course material is drawn from hundreds of hours of direct interviews.

Go beyond the science

The extra years created by the longevity revolution create an entirely new set of challenges. This course examines purpose and meaning with the same rigor as the science.

The world was built for a shorter life

Retirement at sixty-five. Thirty-year careers. Pensions, savings models, the shape of a marriage, the age at which people are quietly written off. All of it was designed around a life expectancy that no longer applies. Those who understand the fundamentals driving this will thrive. It will be decades before the institutions catch up. You can start today. You're following the breakthroughs. You're taking your health seriously. But are you seeing the big picture? The Long Game provides the perspective to make sense of our new reality.

Your Enrollment Includes:

•Twenty-one modules of video, written material, and exercises you can take at your own pace and revisit whenever you want. •A written guide for every module, covering the reasoning, the underlying studies, and recommended reading. •Short assessments after each module so you can test your understanding. •Quarterly live sessions with Dr. Lewis, with direct access to ask about anything in the course or anything happening in the field. •Full access for 180 days.

Meet your guide: Thomas Lewis, MD

Dr. Thomas Lewis is a psychiatrist, neuroscientist, author, and producer/co-star of the award-winning documentary Forever Young. He earned his MD at UCSF, where he completed his psychiatry residency, served as Associate Director of the Affective Disorders Program, and remains an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry. He has delivered Grand Rounds at UCSF and Stanford, and lectured everywhere from the American Association for the Advancement of Science to Google. He also teaches at the Fromm Institute for Lifelong Learning at the University of San Francisco, where his students are adults over fifty. Over the years, he has built courses on the intersection of neuroscience with morality, creativity, complexity science, poetry, love, and Shakespeare. Twice recognized for his teaching at UCSF, he is that rare thing: a working scientist who is also, demonstrably, a teacher. His book A General Theory of Love was reviewed by the New York Times and the Washington Post, which called it "a rare example of the fusing of scientific rigor with literary eloquence." It has been translated into six languages. Founders and physicians have sought him out for years, often calling him the Sage of Sausalito, and his teachings have rarely been available outside lecture halls and private sessions. Dr. Lewis has a unique ability to bridge science and humanism, which makes him the perfect guide to lead you through the science of longevity while remembering why you want to live longer in the first place.

"It's the best possible time to be alive."

Many professionals take The Long Game as continuing education. Upon completion, you receive a certificate documenting your work, which you can submit for professional development records or reimbursement. If your employer requires anything specific, contact us, and we will provide it. For decades, Dr. Lewis has changed how his patients understand their own lives. For the first time, he is opening those doors to a limited number of students. In the film Forever Young, Dr. Lewis says, "It's the best possible time to be alive." By the end of this course, you'll understand why.
